Khokhloma

This mitten pattern is inspired by Russian folk art called Khokhloma, with all those reds and golds on a black background. Those are authentic colors, but please, PLEASE do not limit your color choice, use any color combination you like.

  • SPECIFICATIONS

    Materials:

    • 300-350 meters of fingering-weight yarn
    • 2mm (US size zero) short circular needles
    • stitch holders (optional)

    Gauge:

    • 30 stitches and 35 rows = 4 inches in stranded colorwork, knit in the round  

    Size:

    • the mittens are 64 sts aound palm. Finished size depends on gauge
